Today August 25, 2004, We released NetAuction 6.5. The upgrade is free for all old Mewsoft customers.
The new version has new features added as a custom work ordered by some valued customers, bug fixes, changes to some current features.
Updates and changes list

* Language Manager

has new look and features. Added "Replace text" function so you can replace certain text for example "Mewsoft" in all language files in one click. Added also search by language variable.
Added also "Delete" button besides each language variable in the "Edit language" so you can delete language variables very easy. Added also a drop menus in the edit language page to switch easily between languages and files while editing. Also changed the add new variable text to a textarea to accept longer text or html pages.

Banned words

Admin->Listing Options, you can add unlimited number or banned words and phrases. this is saved in a file data/BannedWords.txt
The new features added above makes you takes control over the Auction system in many ways, for example these features:
Auto Apporve New Users As Sellers
Auto Apporve New Users As Buyers
Makes you run the auction system as Business to Consumer B2C not as a C2C simply letthe system approve all users as bidders only and your users only be sellers so only your business can list items but everyone can bid and buy.
Also the feature:
Sellers Must Prepay Listing Fees, Prepay mode
Allows you to getthe listing fees paid first before the user submit the auction like the classified system, user must have credit in his account equal to the listings fees and the features he choose before he can submit.
The feature "Maximum Allowed Negative Balance" protectes over draft on users accounts, so you can limit the netgative (debit) amount in the users accounts before they can sell.
Bugs fixed list

As fas as I remember from the following bugs reported and fixed and in general any bug reported in this forum or by email has been fixed:
Sorting with the sort links
Search displays closed items
Buy now items final fees not added
Aphosroph in the First user fields error
Not Sold items not showing all
Listing fees not adding correctely

How to install the updates
===================
Please follow these steps so you do ot loose your configuration or settings or customizations:
1)-Do NOT update the files data/*.ini
2)-Upgrade all the cgi files, files in cgi-bin/auction/*.cgi and cgi-bin/auction/*.pm ONLY
3)-The following templates has some changes:
AddCreditCard
PreviewItem
Sell
HomePage (Frontpage)
These Language Files has some changes:
AccountMgr
Bidding
PreviewItem
General
Sell
SignUp
If you have not done customizations to these files, simply update them, if you did, just add the new variables that does not exist in your file, you can compare with the demo on our site.
To get the latest version, go to our site, click on "My Account" and use your license number to download the software or use the Auto installer to installer on any directory on your site.
Important Note

After you install the updates, all currentregsitered users will be disabled as sellers, bidders and you will not be able to change their status from the admin, Also we added 10custom users fields in the regsiatration for, this will generate error when users try to register, The solution is to download this upgrade file:
http://www.mewsoft.com/download/Upgrade.cgi
put it in your cgi-bin/auction directory, change its permissions to 755 ( you may also need to change the first line to pint to perl), then call it from the browser:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/auction/Upgrade.cgi
only one time it will update the users info then after you finish, DELETE this file immediately from your server.
