be sure you understand what each option means before you change it.

Charge
per impression or click
|
|
|
Set the bidding system
operational mode to either click or impression. Set to click to charge
sites when someone clicks on it only. Set to impressions to charge sites
every time their sites is displayed for the surfer it does not matter if
it is clicked or not. The common mode of operation is to charge per actual
click no impressions.

Exclude
zero price keywords in search results
|
|
|
You can decide only to
return search results from the sites and search terms that has bids
greater than zero or from all terms that match no matter if it has bids or
not. If set to yes any search results will contains only sites and with
terms or keywords with bid amount greater than zero and balance greater
than zero.
Important note that when
any account balance goes to zero, all its search terms bids becomes zero.
Which means if you turned on this option also these search terms from
accounts with zero balance will not be included until this account balance
goes up again by making a deposit.

Days
between click count for the same link
|
|
|
This option sets the minimum time period to allow the
click on any link coming from the same user IP or user computer to be
counted as valid click and accordingly the clicked link account will be
charged the bid value.
This is one of the most important security issues in
the system. The system keeps track of each user or surfer by following his
IP address and leaving a cookie on his computer. This to prevent false or
repeated clicks from the same surfer of user on the same links. This
insure that only one click will be counted from the same user during a
specific period of time which is set here.
It is very important to set this value to large number
of days so that the links owners bidding and using the bidding
system gets traffic for what they have paid and therefore they feel they
are using a good system and spend more, please be honest and your business
will grow faster than you think
. |
|
|
Days
between rating the same link
|
|
|
This option sets the minimum number of days or time
period allowed between ratings from the same user for the same links. For
example if a user rated a specific link today, then he will not be able to
rate this same link before the number of days set by this option. This
keep the system honest and safe from hacking by some users or links owners
who can just keep rating their own links as excellent at the same time
make rate others or competitors as very bad or poor.
The program will keep track of surfers of users by
their IP address and a cookie on their computer.

|
|
|
This option allows you to
control whether on not to index the sites description to include in search
terms and search results. Depending on your usage for the engine or the
nature it is used for, you may index or not the description.
For submissions with small
description and no option for the user to enter keywords with his
submissions, then you should enable this option to index the description.
If you accept submissions and allow the users to enter keywords for their
submissions, then it is better to turn this option off to minimize the
keywords for each listing.

Enhance
Keyword Indexing
|
|
|
Do not turn on this
features for big engine database unless you have a good hardware including
the CUP speed and RAM size. This featured when turn on will build search
terms from all the indexed keywords in doubles and triples to make new
phrases.
For example if the site
submitted has index with keywords:
computer, hardware,
software, tools, utilities
Then the enhanced keyword
indexing will add these new phrase also as keywords:
computer hardware
hardware software
software tools
tools utilities
computer hardware software
hardware software tools
software tools utilities
As you can see the system
build a new phrases which is very good only for matching a whole phrase
when the user choose to find only the whole phrase by quoting his search
terms like "computer hardware" in the search box.
This indexing is very
consuming for the disk space. If you have a big engine database, it is not
recommended to turn on this feature. It will also will slower the search
speeds for larger databases.
The final word about all
the indexing is, it depends on many things, this includes system hardware,
system software, type of application, size of database, and many other.

|
|
Default
Rank
|
|
|
This option is used to set
the default rank value for all new sites submitted to the database. Sites
are displayed by order according to their rank descending, bid price
descending, and then title ascending.
This option allow the
system admin to force specific sites to be displayed at the top of the
listings in their categories. This may be very useful for example to sell
the first top ten positions in each category ranked from 1 to 10 and set a
price for each rank of these. Also useful to specify a sponsors positions
at the top of the categories.
Please note the rank will
override the bidding system, means that if a site with the default rank
one and bid price or $10 on the category position, and you set the rank to
5 for a site with bid price of $1 or even zero on the category position,
then the second one will be listed before the first that has the highest
bid.
If you are not sure what
this means, just leave the default and it will take care of everything.

anyway, this is a unique secure key you must set it to any text of letters
